An original pair of earrings from the A. Leondarakis jeweler’s collection made from sterling silver decorated with a cultured pearl.
The earrings are part of the “Lacedaimonian” series. When designing the series, Marialena Leondaraki, the designer and artist, was influenced by the Lacedaimonian hoplites shield and helmet design.
The earring’s lower part has a brushed/rough like surface that contrasts with the upper part series of polished sterling silver lines. Additionally, melted 18K gold has been incorporated into the surface. This has been done by a special technique (employed by only a few craftsmen) that ensures that the gold will not fade by time and that as the silver darkens by age the gold will be further highlighted. Thus the earring’s appearance improves as time passes, succumbing to a sort of metamorphosis. When the earring is polished it will of course return to its original state.
The earrings feature a round cultured pearl in their center set in K18 gold.
The earrings carry the metal fineness stamp and the Workshop code ΩΙ34. They will be sent to you in a presentation box for you to keep or present as a gift.
